Pigmented skin changes such as age spots are being increasingly perceived as cosmetically disturbing by the persons concerned.
There are diverse types of pigmented skin changes which fundamentally differ in their morphological and histological properties. Benign pigmented lesions (age and sun spots), the Café-au-lait spot and many types of nevi can be treated in many different ways with laser devices.
The laser treatment itself is uncomplicated and is generally carried out as an outpatient without or with local anaesthetic. The laser light is absorped by the colour pigments of the skin changes in particular. The irradiated part of the skin appears whitish for 10 - 20 mins after the laser treatment. A small scab will form for approx. 1-2 weeks after this.
We will gladly provide you with advice on the most suitable procedure for you as well as on the possible complications and risks.
