In laser hair removal, the energy from laser light is used in order to prevent specifically hair growth. Even when applying high levels of energy, the treatment is still low risk and only causes minimal pain for the patients. The laser light penetrates the superficial layers of skin and the melanine in the hair absorbs the energy. The absorption converts the light energy into heat and damages the surrounding cell structures which are responsible for the re-growth of the hair.
Several treatments are required for an optimal result. For skin which is sensitive to pain, a cream can be applied on the surface in advance as an anaesthetic.
We will gladly provide you with advice on the most suitable procedure for you as well as on possible complications and risks.
