The skin around the mouth becomes thinner with increasing age. The amount of fatty tissue decreases and the autologous store of hyaluronic acid is reduced. This causes wrinkles and the lips become narrower. Filling the parts of the mouth with hyaluronic acid effectively and harmoniously removes the first wrinkles. The treatment is carried out under local anaesthetic and can take place during normal consultation hours. Other techniques include lip volume restoration with autologous tissue (fat, dermis) and lip vermilion extension. The autologous tissue treatment and the lip vermilion extension are carried out in the scope of a small outpatient operation. Treatment with radio frequency XXX helps in lip shaping procedures (e.g. narrow lips with wrinkles) as well as with a loss of tissue after jaw operations.
