In this method, the silicone gel pads are placed under the pectoral muscle (sub-pectoral) in the normal way. The advantages of this procedure are the considerably lower surgical work, the lower surgical risk and the option of customised pad sizes. The method does not leave any additional scars on the body.

Compared to autologous tissue, the disadvantage of the pads is that later operations to change the implants or correct the capsule can be expected. The operation is carried out under general anaesthetic.
